[Story- The Destiny]
As a baby was heard crying in the middle of the jungle, soldiers from Euphoria marched hurriedly towards the pitchy sound. One of the soldiers shouted, “Someone is stealing the baby”, as he, upon approaching the scene, saw a lady donned in a black dress, grabbing the baby in her hand. Hearing the indistinctive chatters, the lady dropped the baby on the ground and fleed away hastily.
Upon reaching the baby, soldiers discovered him to be still alive and took him to King Richard; a widower king with no child. Delighted seeing the baby boy, the King thought of raising the boy as his godson and named him Eric. The boy was treated like a Prince by everyone in the Palace.
A year later, when the King made a visit to Eutopia, he met a very beautiful girl named Isha who tried to cajole him into her love. Drowned in the greed of becoming a queen, Isha even killed her lover Thomas. And somehow she succeeded in wooing the King into marrying her.
On the wedding day, as all the processions were completed, the priest stared at Isha and as the priest foretold, the King, Isha, and all the attendees were left dumbstruck by hearing, “You will be killed by your own son.”
One year into the marriage, Richard and Isha gave birth to a cute little baby boy Evan. Surprisingly, Isha began to hate her own son and since the words of the priest hovered over her head, her hate manifolded every time she looked at Evan. No love, No care, No affection…Evan was treated as an estranged by Isha, however; Eric was dear to her and she cared for him like her own son.
Eric and Evan treated each other as their own brothers but as they grew older, the fraternity they shared converted into enmity because of the arrival of Lily between them. Opting Evan over Eric, Lily indeed upset Eric and the jealousy of their relationship burned him to such an extent that Eric felt like killing Evan.
Aware of Evan’s relationship with Lily, King Richard, against the Queen’s concord and contentment, planned of marrying Evan to Lily and declare Evan, the new King of Euphoria.
Blind with obsessive hatred, Isha and Eric conspired to kill both father and son with the agreement that Eric would be the new King and Isha would marry him to Lily. On a new moon night, while the wolves growled far distance, Isha mixed the poison in the food of Richard and Evan, but contrary to their plan, Isha also poisoned Lily hoping that Eric would be in trauma after Lily’s death and she herself would rule Euphoria.
At the midnight, as the death news of the three began to spread inside the Palace, Isha secretly summoned the Minister’s meeting and declared herself as a new ruler.
While Isha was rejoicing the moment, she felt a sword pressed against her back from behind. Slowly and difficultly Isha turned her neck back and in the angered face of the stabber, she saw her ex-lover Thomas who she killed to leave behind her past. She blinked her eyes and was taken aback seeing enraged Eric with a sword, who had gone mad after Lily’s death. As she was taking her last breath, she closed her eyes and saw a baby boy who she left in the forest to die.
