Not watering properly
Either over watering or under watering can irreversible damage on plants. If you notice plant developing yellow or brown foliage, it is over watered. If plant shows dry soil, crispy leaf tips, it is under watered.
Not Enough sunlight
Enough light is very necessary for plants. Bright indirect light to medium light is a must have for most plants. But some indoor plants are tender, low sunlight plants and exceeding their light requirement can kill them. Some plants require indirect light for healthy growth. So, it is always better to know about your plant before placing it.

Neglecting fertilizer
Fertilizer is one of the important aspect for plant growth. Plants should be fertilized during spring to summer as they need a diet too.
Unnecessary repotting
If you notice plant growing slowly or drying out quickly, it is time to repot. Don’t select an overly large pot for repotting. A planter that is only one size bigger than the current pot is ideal. But for a new plant, repotting immediately after buying is not good. Let it rest a while and get acclimated to its new environment.

Neglecting your plants
Many of us forget about the plants. Not looking at plants suffering from pests or diseases, missing to prune, no regular fertilization causes damage on plants. So, plants should be cared and all this must be avoided while taking care.
Growing houseplant is a journey. It is okay to loose couple of plants in this journey. Once you know their requirements, you can create a compatible relationship.
