An Untold Love Story : Diamond Kapil K.C.

It was a breezy evening accompanied by the shrilly chirps of nightingales, when Dean was sitting at the middle of an eye-catching garden in an unknown place. Myriads of pristinely beautiful flowers, multicoloured butterflies hovering over the flowers, fresh Bermuda grass, fragrance looming large in the garden, pleasant sounds of birds, mood soothing ambience, and placid environment… the garden was too heavenly to mesmerise anyone. 

While Dean was revelling the surreal landscape, a girl appeared out of nowhere in front of Dean. Blue eyes, pretty face, untied long brown hair, she looked like an angel. Scared Dean somehow collected the courage to look at her face only to be left awestruck seeing Ciri after 30 years in front of him.

Tears floated over Ciri’s eyes when she said ‘I hate you’ but even a single drop of tear did not shed down.

‘So…I am still in your heart?’, Dean managed to ask in a soft voice.

All the events that happened 30 years back started to play in Dean’s mind in a dramatic series. He reminisced how he used to run after her to woo her into his love. To persuade her to come in his life, he left no stones unturned but it was her refusals and scolds that left his dreams shattered and heart broken. Every time he approached her, she used to scold him and harshly utter ‘I hate you’ …he recalled everything.

After a silence of few minutes Ciri questioned Dean, ‘Why did you save my life?’ and this time she couldn’t control her tears from falling down her eyes. Dean remembered Ciri was suffering from serious disease back then. He stared at her eyes without speaking a single word.

‘I loved you too’, Ciri broke the silence with a broken voice and Dean turned surprised eyes at her.

‘I was suffering from the life threatening disease’, she continued speaking, ‘And I never wanted you to ruin your life following me…I wanted you to pursue your dreams’. 

‘But you offered your own life to the God of Death to save my life’ she expressed dismay.

‘How could I live without you’, tears shed down from Dean’s eyes.

‘I hate you’, she spoke silently.

‘Now you have returned back into my life…we will live together’, Dean insisted Ciri to be with him forever.

‘I have waited to be with you for so many years and God listened my prayers 4 years back’, she convinced Dean.

With a smile on his face, Dean excitingly leaped towards Ciri and she whispered ‘I cannot live my life with you but I will always be with you.’

Unsatisfied with her words Dean tried to hold her hands. With a smile on her face she gently replied ‘I hate you’ and she disappeared as if she were a magician.

Shocked and scared, Dean woke up from his dreams only to realise his reincarnation.

He fetched a glass of water to drink but his shivering hands dropped the glass. As soon as the glass was broke, his 4 years old daughter woke up from her sleep. Disturbed and angry, she looked at her father rubbing her eyes and shouted ‘I hate you’ at him.

Dean looked at her with his caring eyes and he smiled.
